James Roach

 Hello All!  

My name is James Roach. I grew up in San Antonio, Tx and graduated from the U.S. Naval Academy in 1996 with a degree in Economics. I flew the P-3 Orion for the Navy for 21 years of combined service on active duty and in the reserves. After leaving active duty, I transitioned to commercial aviation and joined Southwest Airlines as a pilot. I currently am the Chief Pilot for Southwest Airlines in Orlando, Florida. I have been married for 24 years and we have 5 kids, 18-year-old Triplets, a 16-year-old, and a 9-year-old and we live on a farm in central Florida. When not in the office or an airplane, you can usually find me at one of my kids' school or sporting events, church functions or driving a tractor on the farm.  

My personal ethical framework is based on a religious and military background that encouraged honesty, care for others and the importance of building trust with those around me. My success as a spouse, parent and leader depends on if they can trust my actions and believe my words. I am excited to learn from and with you this term as we explore ethics.

I am a husband to an amazing wife, Emily, and a father of one rambunctious three-and-a-half-year-old daughter.
